"I Can Do Anything" is a timely children’s book that serves as an introduction for children to concepts of self esteem, self awareness, motivation, and confidence. This book is very powerful in its illustration of appropriate childhood cognitive development. It contains beautiful illustrations that children can easily relate to. It is recommended for children ages 2-5 

"Alicia’s Big Test" is a delightful and informative children’s book, which introduces scientific concepts using fun and age-appropriate language. In this, his second children’s offering, Mr. Harvey reinforces the importance of self-confidence and self-esteem, and sends the important message that studying and hard work lead to positive results. This is a great book for children, parents, and teachers. 

"In Amigo Means Friend" the students of the Sunflower Series address the issue of language difference not as a barrier, but as a learning opportunity. The characters show that although, there are new subjects to learn, the learning process can be mutually beneficial to all. The characters of the Sunflower Series’ positivity and willingness to obtain and share knowledge serves as a great model for all students. 

 "What Do You Do When A Bully Picks On You?" is an excellent book that illustrates the impact that bullying has on students. Mr. Harvey provides various scenarios in which a student causes pain and hurt feelings to his peers. As a school Social Worker, I found the vignettes to be timely and realistic. Mr. Harvey discusses bullying in a student friendly language that encourages discussion. This book will be a valuable tool for students, teachers and clinicians alike as they explore the implications of bullying in the school environment. 

Recommended for fourth grade, Anthony Breaks His Promise, introduces the themes of integrity and accountability as Anthony makes promises and then breaks them. He finds himself making excuses and confused as to why people are angry with him for not keeping his word. This book is a timely story for young readers who are beginning to learn responsibility. 

"Kids Around The World" is the sixth book in the Sunflower Series for children! In this book our main character, Stevie, finds out what it's like to live in other countries! Have your young reader explore with him as he sees what school is like in China, what food is like in Italy, what the history of monuments in Egypt is and the culture of Brazil. Recommended for ages 9-10.

"We Don’t Have To Fight"  is an empowering book for youth who are faced with intimidation and physical confrontations. The book carefully gives strategies for standing up to aggressors as well as conflict resolution, in a rhyming story, to add in a child’s resources against bullying. This book is recommended for children 7-9.
